Would you consider becoming a provision partner?

“God’s work done God’s way produces results that we can’t explain, that we can’t control, and for which we can’t take the credit.”

FBCVA owns 20 acres on the West side of HWY 75. The site is on Collin McKinney Parkway, which is slated to be a four-lane main road connecting Van Alstyne Parkway (FM121) and The Mantua Project. The site is located near the future home of Van Alstyne High School.

Why do we feel led to build?

We are called to reach our community for Christ, but our facilities are not equipped to effectively accomplish that task. Limited accessibility, lack of parking areas, an antiquated building lay-out, and an absence of interaction areas are just a few of the hindrances to our pursuit of this mission.

Why was it called the Joshua project?

Look at the first chapter of Joshua. Before his death, Moses laid his hands on Joshua to pass the mantle of leadership to God's appointed leader. Joshua accepted his new role and the challenge to take possession of the promised land. The people responded, "All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go." (Joshua 1:16b) The FBCVA leadership has issued a similar challenge to each of us. We will be blessed as we respond as the Israelites did to the message from Joshua, a challenge to radical generosity and commitment.

The Members Meeting of FBCVA assembled on Sunday evening, June 26th, 2022, to vote on two proposals. The motions came from the Joshua Project Leadership Team, primarily the sub-committees of the Financial and Construction teams.

  1. A motion from the JP Finance Team to secure a loan from Commercial Bank of Texas to complete Phase 1 of the Joshua Project.

  2. A motion from the JP Construction Team to enter into a contract with Plyler Construction.

After presentations given by the Joshua Project Administrator John Williamson, the teams took questions from the floor. The questions of the members were answered by members of each team. What was evident in the meeting was unity in spirit, and purpose, which could be heard in the tone of questions and answers. Amid discussion of weighty matters across the room, there were times of laughter, smiles, head nods, and tears while hearing talk of God's guidance and timing through the processes.

Each motion was called for a vote separately, and both passed with 100% of the members voting in the affirmative. With the outcome of the meeting, site work and construction will begin next month on our property on Collin-McKinney Parkway, with an estimated completion of the fall of 2023.
