Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry at FBCVA seeks to support, encourage, and exhort women of all ages.
Grow spiritually by joining us at a retreat or one of our weekday Bible Studies tailored especially for women, serving alongside your sisters in Christ in outreach activities, or making new friends and enjoying old friends by attending one of our social events.
It is our desire that you find a place to grow spiritually as well as
a place to serve faithfully among your Sisters in Christ.
“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness & compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit & purpose . Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Philippians 2:1-4

WMU meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Each month we have a program that highlights individual missionaries, giving us a personal view of their lives and work. We host missionary guest speakers as well as those who come to share information about mission trips they have taken in the United States and abroad. In addition, we have a monthly project which supports worthwhile causes in Van Alstyne, Grayson County, the United States or abroad. • Porch Friends is a great time of food, fun and fellowship with old friends and new on the porch each fall and spring!
  • Goodies, Games, and Gab is a time to gather with other ladies for a casual night of fellowship. Held on a few Friday nights throughout the year. Games, crafts, puzzles, snacks, and lots of laughter! If you aren’t a game person, come anyway! Plenty of ladies just sit and visit.
  • Retreats are held for a time of spiritual refreshment – come study, worship, and connect with your sisters! Retreats are held at the Prothro Lodge in Pottsboro, TX on beautiful Lake Texoma.
