Vintage Christmas: Before the Word Became Flesh
When you think of a Vintage Christmas, what do you think of? Gifts, loved ones, traditions, or particular seasons from the past may come to mind. To truly understand what Christmas is all about we have to go back further, even before the birth of Jesus. Looking at John 1:1-3;14, we will see the true meaning of Christmas is found in eternities past in the "Word." We see the Word is God, The Word is Great, and the Word is Gracious.

Hold Firm:The Kingdom and Last Things
    Series: Hold Firm
In Matthew 3:1-3, John the Baptist is speaking as the forerunner of the coming Messiah. The Jews were anticipating the Messiah to come and establish an earthly kingdom. But John was preparing the hearts of the people to come to faith in Jesus. We come to God through repentance, turning away from our sin and turning to Jesus as King. This is how we enter His Kingdom.

In this message from the Hold Firm series, Pastor Mike looks at Articles 9 and 10 of the Baptist Faith and Message and Matthew 3:1-3 to answer four questions: When is the Kingdom? What is the Kingdom? What about Last Things? and What about chronology?

    Hold Firm: The Lord’s Day
    Series: Hold Firm
Why is it that Christians speak of the Lord's Day and worship on Sunday rather than Saturday, the traditional Sabbath? What makes the Lord's Day unique? Do the Sabbath Day rules apply to the Lord's Day? In this message from the Hold Firm series, Pastor Mike walks through Article 8 of The Baptist Faith and Message, The Lord's Day, and draws from Acts 20:7-12 to answer these questions. He shows that the Lord's Day is about Corporate Worship, Corporate Fellowship, a Corporate Experience of the Miraculous, and Corporate Rejoicing.

Hold Firm: The Church and Her Ordinances
    Series: Hold Firm
Churches in America are in decline. One of the primary reasons for this is that many church members have lost sight of what the local church is and what it is meant to do. Matthew 16:13-20 is one of only two passages where Jesus uses the word that we translate as "church." The passage shows Jesus as the foundation and head of a church that is moving forward, advancing the gospel.

In this message from the Hold Firm series, Pastor Mike unpacks this passage as he examines Article VI and VII of The Baptist Faith and Message. He explains the origin, the owner, the composition, the posture, the purpose, and the ordinances of the church.

Hold Firm: God’s Purpose of Grace
    Series: Hold Firm
Few issues cause more debate than election vs. free will. God is sovereign, yet he has given us the ability to choose to follow or to disobey Him. It is difficult for human minds to understand the balance between the two, and extreme views exist on both sides. It is a complex issue, wrapped in conflict and tension. The text in Ephesians 2:8-10 addresses both God's grace and man's faith in the matter of salvation. Paul affirms that no one is saved apart from grace, which is the gift of God, and faith, which also comes from God.

In this message from the Hold Firm series, Pastor Mike looks at Article 5 of The Baptist Faith and Message, God's Purpose of Grace. He unpacks Ephesians 2:8-10 to provide an understanding of election and its implications. He then unpacks John 10:27-29 to provide an understanding of perseverance and its foundation.

    Hold Firm: Salvation
    Series: Hold Firm
Are you saved? This is an important question, and yet can also be a confusing question. What does it mean to "be saved"? In this message from the Hold Firm series, Pastor Mike looks at Article 4 of The Baptist Faith and Message, and unpacks Romans 1:14-17 to clarify what we believe about salvation. He outlines the source of salvation, the need for salvation, the purpose of salvation, the recipients of salvation, and the challenge of salvation.

    Hold Firm: Man
    Series: Hold Firm
When we look up at the night sky, it is easy to feel small compared to the expanse of the universe. In Psalm 8, the psalmist is struck by this realization and is moved to praise God for His greatness and His goodness.  In this message from the Hold Fast series, Pastor Mike explores what this Psalm has to teach us about who we are in light of who God is. Applying this truth to the statement of belief found in Article 3 of The Baptist Faith and Message helps us to see that there is a biblical balance between our unworthiness and God's care for us.
