Do Work!
What do you do when life gives you a raw deal?  As believers we should always seek to extend the same grace that we have received.  So when we are treated unjustly we should submit with respect, suffer without retaliation, and surrender to righteous judgement.  Glorify God in all ways and at all times.

Living Right in a World Gone Wrong
People who wear corrective lenses understand how different the world looks with and without glasses.  Lenses affect the way we view the world. Believers need to view the world through the lens of Scripture.  But what happens when our biblical worldview collides with the secular worldview of others?  We must believe that God is in control, and behave as godly citizens.  Believers should be sure that the world knows what we stand for, not just what we stand against.

    Building a Spiritual House
In scripture, the word "house" is often used to refer to the temple or tabernacle.  In 1 Peter 2:4-8, Peter uses it to describe both the church and individual believers.  We are being built into a spiritual house with Christ as the cornerstone.  As we align our lives with Christ, our spiritual house will be steady and strong.  We do this by giving God ourselves, giving Him our praise, and giving others our compassion.

    Hungry for the Word
Do you hunger for the Word of God?  A baby longs for the milk that will fill the emptiness inside and nourish him.  Peter's statement, "long for the pure spiritual milk" is not a request - it is an imperative.  If we have experienced God and eliminated the congestion that distracts us, we will crave the pure spiritual milk of the Word. And when we eat healthy we will experience growth in our spiritual lives.

    Love Like an Alien
Jesus said that the world would know we are his disciples by our love for one another.  But this love is more than just a brotherly love.  It is a godly love.  Peter reminds his readers that believers are to love one another from a pure heart. He emphasizes the importance of purity and obedience leading to brotherly love which develops into a selfless love.

    The Fear Factor
What does it mean to fear God?  Are we supposed to be afraid of God, or just approach Him with a sense of awe or holy reverence? In this massage from the Embassy Living series, Pastor Mike explains Peter's admonishment to the early church to "conduct yourselves with fear," and reminds us why we should fear God: because of the consequences of sin and because of the cost of salvation.

    Get Your Heart Right

Peter again reminds the church that we are not of this world.  Just as God is holy, we are to be holy, set apart for God's purpose and His glory.  Yet we are surrounded by media that sends us mixed messages, and sometimes even lies. How do we prepare ourselves to live as aliens in this strange land? We buckle up - preparing our minds for action; and we wake up - being sober-minded.

    Truths About Our Inheritance
In 1 Peter 1:3-12, the early church was reminded that although their earthly possessions may have been taken, they have an inheritance in heaven that cannot be taken away. The inheritance that Peter is writing about is not physical in nature, it is spiritual - imperishable, unfading, eternal. In Jesus we have a living hope: the eager, confident expectation of the life to come. This inheritance is to be remembered with joy; it is being refined by fire; and it was regarded by prophets and angels.

I’ll Need to See Some ID, Please
The book of 1 Peter was written to the early Church in the midst of persecution.  They were scattered throughout different regions and fearful.  In this first message in the series titled, Embassy Living, Pastor Mike relates Peter's encouragement to the Church.  Christians are chosen by God, aliens in the world, known by the Father, and being changed by the Spirit.

Judas Iscariot – So Close But So Far Away
    Series: Follow Me
We can learn much from the disciples by looking at their failures as well as their successes.  Judas Iscariot was chosen by Jesus to be one of the twelve, but he had the biggest failure of them all. Looking at Matthew 26:47-49 and 27:3-5, Pastor Mike shows us some things we can learn about Judas Iscariot, but more importantly things we can learn from him.
