Iron Sharpens Iron

FBCVA Iron Men

From the beginning, God designed men to fill a leadership role. This role was never intended to be filled in isolation, even though men often take that approach. But Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us that “a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” And Proverbs 27:17 tells us that “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

FBCVA Iron Men meet monthly. Meetings consist of a meal and a challenge speaker. There will be occasions where our monthly meeting will be held in conjunction with another activity, such as recreation events or service projects. Generally, meetings will be held on Saturday mornings in the Family Life Center.

Recreational Outings

Throughout the year, we will have the opportunity for fellowship through several recreational events. Currently in the planning stages are a golf outing, a fishing/camping trip, and a trip to the firing range.

Service Projects

From time to time, we will have opportunities to assist in projects in the community to help individuals in need. Examples include yard maintenance for widows, small repair jobs, helping people move, etc.

This will be a mentor/mentee program where we pair up with guys with a partner from the group for accountability and discipleship. No expertise is needed other than a willingness to help.

This is a skill share program. You offer your particular skill as a service to others in the group or swap for someone’s skill in the network.

Leadership Team

A group who has a heart to make Iron Men successful. Again, no expertise is needed other than a willing heart.
