Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry at FBCVA seeks to support, encourage, and exhort women of all ages. Grow spiritually by joining us at a retreat or one of our Wednesday Bible Studies tailored especially for women, serving alongside your sisters in Christ in outreach activities, or making new friends and enjoying old friends by attending one of our social events. It is our desire that you find a place to grow spiritually as well as a place to serve faithfully among your Sisters in Christ.

“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness & compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit & purpose (mind). Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” -Philippians 2:1-4

Ways to Get Involved: Ladies’ Bible Study meets Wednesdays, September – May, from 9:30 to 11:30 am in the Basement Fellowship Room and from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the sanctuary. Come join us and invite a friend! Open to the community. Nursery care is available. Visit our FBCVA Women Facebook page for current study details. Women on Mission meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Each month, we have a program that highlights individual missionaries, giving us a personal view of their lives and work. We host missionary guest speakers as well as those who come to share information about mission trips they have taken in the United States and abroad. In addition, we have a monthly project which supports worthwhile causes in Van Alstyne, Grayson County, the United States or abroad. Contact Marty Epp with questions or for more information, 903.482.5053. “Adopt” a College Student Have an impact on the life of one of our college students as they are away from home by sending notes of encouragement (maybe once a month or so), letting them know someone from home is thinking about and praying for them. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Val Lauerhahs at 972.977.4927. Also, if you have or know of a college student who would like to be “adopted,” please be in touch with Val. Please note, male volunteers are also welcome!
