Our Great God of Simplicity
The level of knowledge in the world has increased exponentially, but knowledge of God has decreased.  Psalm 46:10 commands us to "Be still and know that I am God."  God is not easy to understand, but He is simple to know.  We must be willing to submit to the contemplation that is demanded, and realize the revelation that is described - a revelation that is personal and powerful.

    Our Great God of Sovereignty
Westerns movies often feature a showdown in which someone would say, "There ain't room enough in this town for the both of us."   Although many deny and defy Him, our God is still on the throne. He is still in control.  He is still sovereign.  In this message from Psalm 46:6-9, Pastor Mike explores the sovereignty of God as declared by past events, determined for prophetic events, and demonstrated in present events.  There is only one God.  There is room for no other.

    Our Great God of Safety
Because Jerusalem was not built around a natural river, King Hezekiah diverted a natural spring outside the city into a reservoir inside the walls using a system of underground waterways. This 'river' provided safety and stability when Jerusalem came under attack. In the third message of the series based on Psalm 46, Pastor Mike explores the mystery, the might, and the meaning of the river as illustrated in verses 4 and 5, and what the River means to us today.

    Our Great God of Security
Martin Luther, one of the pioneers of the Protestant Reformation, is perhaps best known as the author of the hymn, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.  The hymn was inspired by Psalm 46, Luther's favorite psalm.  Pastor Mike begins his sermon series based on this psalm by looking at the first verse.  In this one verse we see the authority of God established, the ability of God expressed, and the activity of God explained.

Is There Hope for My Broken Heart?
Luke 24:13-34 relates the story of two disciples travelling to Emmaus after Jesus had been crucified.  They were brokenhearted because they believed their hopes had been crushed.  We all have times in our livs when our hearts get broken.  We experience disappointments, loos of loved ones, broken relationships.  But just like the two disciples, our hope can be restored by encountering the risen Christ.

Is There Hope When I’m Gripped by Fear?
Is thee hope when I'm gripped by fear?  In the third installment in the series, Holding on to Hope, Pastor Mike draws from Psalm 55 to answer this question.  Healthy fear can protect you, but harmful fear paralyzes you.  The Bible contains 365 uses of phrases similar to "Do not be afraid." The answer to fear isn't running away, it's running to God.

    Hope When I’ve Blown It
Have you ever reached a place in your life where you feel like you jus blew it?  Most of us don't have to work hard to mess up, and we ask ourselves, "Is there hope for me when I've blown it?"  The story of Jesus and the Samaritan Woman in John 4:5-39 reminds us that God wants us to hold on to hope.  And the good news is that our hope doesn't depend on us - it lies in Jesus Christ.

    Hang On!
Hope is a beautiful thing.  Too often, however, we use the word in a weak context.  In the Bible, "hope" is a word of dynamic certainty.  This new series from Pastor Mike explores the hope that we have in Christ.  In Romans 8:18-25, Paul reminds us of the future hope that we have.  What we are enduring here and now cannot compare to the glory that awaits us.
